Extraordinary English Podcast - Episode #4

This is Extraordinary English Podcast, Episode #4, Welcome everyone. I am Ben.
In this fourth episode, ...

SCENE 1

ELSA: Ben! When are you going to introduce me?

BEN: Hold your horses Elsa, I will get there.

ELSA: It's been time you promised to have me join Extraordinary English Podcast. I've been waiting for so long. So, sorry but I cannot hold my horses anymore.

BEN: OK, OK... It's your turn now! What do you want to say?

ELSA: At last! Well, first of all, how are you doing Ben?

BEN: I am sort of out of sorts... I have a pain in the neck.

ELSA: Sorry to hear that. I wonder what's the reason.

BEN: The other day I was in deep conversation with a friend, talking about my projects... Then unexpectedly, she cut me off by saying:

SOMEONE: "It's not at all in vain, you having all that neck pain!"

ELSA: Oh really? I was about to call you a "couch potato"?

BEN: What?! What do you mean?

ELSA: You're goofing off all the time. You only publish an episode of Extraordinary English Podcast once a year... Why are you not more creative?

BEN: I have a lot on my plate. Besides, last year we started a new podcast with Steve with the name of Out of Order English Podcast.

ELSA: Oh really? You mean the same Steve you had in the third episode of Extraordinary English Podcast?

BEN: Yes, you're right, that Steve!

ELSA: Tell me more. I want to hear all about Out of Order English Podcast.

BEN: OK. Let me tell you how to find and listen to it.

ELSA: I am all ears! Both of them!

BEN: It's on Youtube, and many podcast platforms, including Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon music, and more.

ELSA: I will definitely listen to all of the episodes. And then I will knock on your door. (knocking sound)

SCENE 2

STEVE: Who is that knocking on the door?

ELSA: This is Elsa.

STEVE: Hello Elsa. Why are you making all that noise?

ELSA: I want to join you and Ben in Out of Order English Podcast.

STEVE: OK. Your name is now included in the list. When your turn has arrived, we'll let you know.

ELSA: Yay!

SCENE 3

ELSA: Ben, I have just applied to join Out of Order English Podcast...

BEN: Congratulations Elsa! It'll be nice to have you join us. I'm sure you'll be a valuable addition to the podcast.

ELSA: Thank you Ben. I am happy and I want to sing now.

BEN: Singing? Imm.... You have to have an audition for that.

ELSA: Oh, really?! OK, how can I do that?

BEN: Here are some sentences, try to melodize and sing them?

BEN: I will conclude this episode, melodizing and singing some meaningful quotes. Try to keep up with me.

ELSA: What?! You want me to perform on the spot?

BEN: That's right!

ELSA: Don't you think this is a tall order?

BEN: I know. But you are talented... And the listeners will evaluate your performance...

ELSA: That sounds like a daunting task!

BEN: Come on, Elsa. You can do it!

ELSA: OK, I'm game! Let's go for it!

SCENE 4

  1. I am who I am today because of the choices I made yesterday.
  2. Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes.

  6. Seek respect, not attention. It lasts longer.
  7. Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.
  8. Wisdom is learning what to overlook.
  9. Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.
  10. Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.

---------------------------ChatGPT------------------

Here is a dialogue between Elsa and Ben. Can you fix the mistakes and make it a bit longer?

BEN: Excellent! You have a great voice, Elsa. I think you have what it takes to join Out of Order English Podcast.

BEN: I will... Clara, you are as quiet as a mouse today. I wonder why?

CLARA: Sara, I have a suggestion for you.. your coffee shop is very spacious. why don't you hold some activities occasionally?

SARA: can you elaborate?

CLARA: Maybe you can put a stage over there and invite some talents to do some performance

SARA: Iiim...

CLARA: Like someone who can sing, or play guitar, read poetry, or even do talk show.

BEN: wow! it sounds astonishing!

SARA: It's a nice idea Clara. But I am already snowed under with lots of things. I am not sure if I can manage to organize such an event.

BEN: I have a remedy for you Sara?

SARA: What's it Ben?

BEN: Why don't you hire Clara and have her works here, in your coffee shop? She can help you and also organize the events.

SARA: It's a good idea... Clara, you have heard Ben. Would you like to work in my coffee shop and assist me?

CLARA: I would like to, Sara. But I am studying at the school. Would it be suitable for you if I work part time?

SARA: Done!

Sara, Some audiences suggesting us to have a part at the end of the episode, describing the phrases and expressions we used in the episode. What do you think about this idea?

....

Or maybe we can invent a dictionary guy which we can call him whenever we need him.

.....

Another funny guy (a sort of listener) may interrupt and asks (in funny way) about the things he didn't understand. After that the dictionary guy may appear and describe the things (in formal way).

....

SCENE 5

ALEX: Hello Ben! I am expecting you to talk to me for months.
BEN: Hello Alex. Why don't you talk with someone else meanwhile?
ALEX: It is a good idea. But nobody wants to talk to me more than few minutes.
BEN: It'll be the same with me too.
ALEX: Why? Can't you stay any longer?
BEN: I am busy Alex. I have a podcast to prepare. What do you want?
ALEX: OK OK! I want to ask you a question.
BEN: Why don't you just ask me the question directly, without telling me you are going to ask me a question?
ALEX: I want you to be ready for it.
BEN: Come on Alex!
ALEX: How many cookies could a good cook cook if a good cook could cook cookies?
BEN: What?!
ALEX: How many cookies could a good cook cook if a good cook could cook cookies? (melodic)
BEN: Hmm... I think, A good cook could cook as much cookies as a good cook who could cook cookies.
ALEX: Wow! You knew it! Let me ask you another one.
BEN: Keep it for next time Alex. We happen to be out of time! (+for this episode!)
